Perfect location. We did eat at restaurant first night for dinner and had their excellent mussels, which aren't always available. Reservations are taken for hotel guests, and we ate outdoors. It is very busy! Unfortunately, people are still allowed to smoke outdoors in France so be warned. (We ate at La Marsala down the street the second night; the only bad meal we ate in France over 8 days.) Price for breakfast too much. But there are so many wonderful bakeries and coffee shops at a quarter of the price nearby.
We took D-Day tour from hotel, which is about 100 yards from the hotel. The Bayeaux Museum is 200 yards away as is the cathedral. Shops and restaurants all within walking distance.
We traveled by train. Walk to hotel is flat and about half-mile walk.

Bayeux is a lovely town and very central to all of the D Day beaches and many other interesting places related to WW2.
The town is not too big so a lot can be seen in a reasonable space of time.
The British memorial cemetery there is one of the most poignant I visited.

Loved this town because it's like going back in time, when people aren't in a hurry and take pride in their town and their food, culture, etc. Proud that they survivied WW2, and the importance to educating their children about it. Had a lovely tour about that. Went to great restaurants that our hotel Hotel D'Argouges recommended for us. Le Pommier and Le Volet Qui Penche!! Like to go back when it's warmer to see the beautiful flowers in bloom, we went 3/8, so I would like to go back in April sometime.

Easy to explore on foot - lots of historical stuff, museums, WW2 cemeteries, and of course, there's the tapestry!
A really good base for visiting the D-Day beaches and museums from Pegasus Bridge to Utah beach.
The quiet hotel is located in the centre of Bayeux and well equipped. Easy to reach by car, cathedral and tapestry museum within walking distance. Free parking available just some 100 m away. A good base camp for exploring Normandy, especially if you're doing it by bicycle or motorbike, as it offers a possibility to bring in your "trusty steed".
There was a slight issue with the internet connection, which the proprietor fixed immediately. She was very welcoming and friendly and offered good advice on things to see and do.
We recently stayed at the apartment in Bayeux, France and we were extremely satisfied with our experience. The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The hostess was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location was also convenient, allowing us to easily explore the charming town of Bayeux. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this accommodation to others visiting the area.
The location is central to all Bayeux landmarks. It is also very centrally located to Normandy. There are many restaurants within walking distance as well. The staff is incredibly professional and helpful. I truly cannot say enough about this hotel as it was the most perfect stay we have ever had anywhere! The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. I highly recommend Villa Lara if a person is visiting Bayeux and Normandy.
I wanted a hotel in Bayeux for my family (7 adults) that was convenient to all the attractions in the town. The Churchill website does not do justice to the hotel, the rooms were terrific (we had 4 rooms), and the Staff were absolutely fantastic. I speak French but my family does not, it was never an issue. There were great restaurants a few steps from the hotel so it was easy to satisfy everyone's desire for meals.
Beautiful setting and grounds and immaculate, huge comfortable suite! Excellent breakfast and dining. The staff were top notch and so gracious and the pool and sauna area was a real treat.... Soak in the jacuzzi and gaze over the fields spying the steeple of Bayeux Cathedral in the distance. Super location for exploring all Normandy has to offer. You will need more than a few days here!
Fantastic 1 bedroom apartment with everything I needed. Location was great, a stone’s throw from the cathedral and town centre and also close to the Battle of Normandy Museum and war graves. I would stay again but unlikely to do so as I’ve done all Bayeux had to offer in my 2 nights stay. Recommend this for a visit to see Bayeux’s sights.
Everything was perfect. Frederick and the staff could not have been more attentive to any need you had. Hotel is historic but had modern amenities in the rooms. Perfect location, beautiful hotel and excellent stay. Would absolutely go back next time in Normandy. Bayeux is a great spot to launch all your tours of Normandy.
Everything about this hotel is wonderful: the welcome and helpful staff, the great room with everything that you could need, great location between the train station and the town centre, the beautiful grounds, and the fantastic breakfast. I will definitely stay here again!
Bayeux was such a great town. We booked this property so that we could stay in Bayeux for the night before going on a Normandy tour. It was perfectly located with free parking and it was so close to the town. The room itself was super cute and the street quiet.
Beautiful hotel within walking distance to the center of town. The hotel is lovely with wonderful, vibrant gardens and trees. The breakfast is fantastic and the service was great, we'd definitely stay here if/when we return to Bayeux!
We only stayed for a night. The hotel was ok. Very "french" vibes, which i really liked. Peace and quiet. The location was ok, about a 20-minute walk to town centre. Parking is there.
Clean bedding and towels, big and comfortable bed.
Location was good, central to the town of Bayeux. If visiting Normandy, a rental car is more convenient than bus. All supplies were available. Kitchen was nicely upgraded. Off season, there are not a lot of restaurants open.
Close proximity to both the main freeway, close proximity to Bayeux city centre and the actual location of the hotel in a quiet industrial park
The staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was good value for money
This hotel was just what we needed for a one-night stay and exploring Bayeux. The room was small but very clean. Clean towels were provided. The receptionist was very kind and helpful.
Big parking area.
Love the hotel, super cute and the location was walking distance from restaurants and local sights. If visiting Normandy beach a car is highly recommended or scheduled tours
Hotel is small but rooms were more spacious than they looked. Everything was clean, very well located to get quickly out of Bayeux in the mornings to explore Normandy.
It was exactly as I imagined a small town in France. The location was perfect to the farmer's market, the business district, and minutes away to the historic sites.
This hotel is perfect when you are traveling across France. Breakfast was typical French. And you. Ginger teacher. I hope you find me ❤️
